Comenius East Midlands

Comenius East Midlands helps to develop languages in the region across all phases of education from Key Stage 2 to adult education and community learning. Supporting the Government's aim to provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities, the Comenius Network offers training and support for teachers and educational establishments in their implementation of the National Languages Strategy.

Comenius centres across the country are funded by DfES through CILT, the National Centre for Languages with additional support from their local stakeholders.

Comenius East Midlands offers a wealth of language resources including books, videos and software for evaluation. CD & Video playback, interactive whiteboard and internet access are available. They also run a number of courses, for languages teachers, throughout the year as well as organising annual Primary Languages and Secondary Language Leaders conferences held at Beaumanor Hall.
