Exporter aiming to lead the world 26.02.08
A familiar name to the Business Awards Derbyshire have now been recognised for their export achievements. AESSEAL, previous winners of the Best Business Practice Award, took the title of 'Exporter of the Year' at this year's awards.
The firm, which was named British Chambers of Commerce Business of the Year in 2006, is the second largest mechanical seal manufacturer in the UK and the fourth largest in the world.
The company, based in Wetherby Road, on the Osmaston Park Industrial Estate, was set up 28 years ago and has a growing network of 66 branches as well as a distributor base.
The company said it was aiming to be the world leader in the design, manufacture, marketing and supply of mechanical seals and sealing systems for rotating machinery.
It has clients in 83 countries, including Brazil, Germany, France and South Africa and overseas sales represent 73 per cent of the division's sales.
General manager Jamie Thums said: "We're all thrilled to win Exporter of the Year, which recognises the breadth and depth of our efforts to grow global sales year-on-year.
"To strengthen our relationship with overseas customers and to break down language barriers, we have a team of linguists who are able to speak to customers in their own mother tongue.
"Our primary objective is to become the number one seal manufacturer in the world."
