Continental lessons for Heanor pupils 02 July 2008

Pupils at Heanor Gate Science College tried out food from different countries when they took part in a European week.

The youngsters tasted a range of cuisines and tried their hand at different languages including Italian, Russian, German, and Welsh and students even enjoyed a continental breakfast.

The week was part of modern languages lessons and there were competitions with prizes for the pupils who achieved the most.

Kath McKenzie from the school said: "Students had a taste of different languages, including Chinese, Russian, Swedish and Welsh and there was also food tasting."
