The Business of Language East Midlands - Issue 8 January 2007

Hello to everyone, and Happy New Year!

Luckily we’ve just got through January 22nd. This is apparently(according to some statistics or other) the most depressing day of the year. The good news is, having got through it, things should belooking up for the next 12 months; however, for a certain Miss J Goody (and her cohorts in the BB house) the year may well go downhill from here.

I’m sure we don’t want to dwell overly on what happened in that pressure-cooker of a house somewhere in deepest, darkest North London, but for the RLN, one of whose chief roles is to help individuals and companies improve cross-cultural communication and relationships, it has been of real interest.

We are, therefore, very glad to bring you an article written by Zarine Jacob, a global leadership coach, with her thoughts on some of the issues raised. Our tips and tricks and this edition's quiz will also put the spotlight on India.

Elsewhere in the ezine we have a case study with an Eastern European flavour from the Northants firm Iseki Redivac, news from the RLN and CILT, a summary of the Dearing report, events information for the region and, as the saying goes, much, much more.

All that now remains is for you to read it…

With all best wishes from the RLN,

Suzannah

Editor
