Derrick Farthing - E.On plc
Director of E.On UK's (formerly Powergen) Science and Engineering Business, Power Technology

Derrick has been in this role since 2001 and has change managed the business in three years to become a very successful, commercially focused enterprise with 220 customer accounts, 230 employees and a £22M turnover.
He has held several top management team roles in large coal and gas fired Power Stations, being Station Manager at the state of the art Connah's Quay 1400MW CCGT Power Station for three years. In 2000, Connah's Quay Received the Business Excellence Leadership Award for the Northwest Region of the UK .
Derrick has represented the company publicly several times, being one of two senior executives to express opinions about low carbon technologies on behalf of the Power Industry to the Parliamentary Select Committee for Science and Technology (Oct 2002).
Derrick is also Chairman of E.ON UK Projects Consulting Ltd, the overseas arm of Power Technology, supplying consultancy services worldwide, including countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, Romania and Russia.
Derrick is a happily married, family man with two daughters 27 and 21. His main interests are sports including golf, scuba diving and swimming.
